Start off with a savory breakfast at a local diner, Big Island Grill. Great flavors and awesome portions to satisfy all taste buds and appetites! Then we head down to America's only Seahorse Aquafarm, a top ten must do while here on the Big Island! Now lets visit Greenwell Coffee farm for some world famous, fresh brewed 100% Kona Coffee, not to mention all the avocado, citrus, apple banana, and tangerine trees on the farm. Next stop will be at "2 steps", a top ten snorkeling spot, see stunning tropical fishes, coral reefs, and sometimes the wild spinner dolphins want to swim here too. Now after all that snorkeling, let fill that belly again at Teshima's in Kainaliu, a local favorite since the 1940's. After that delicious meal, let's cruise through Kona town and head towards Pololu Valley up north for stunning rainforest and black sand beach views, take a hike down if your up to it. It’s now about that time for more fun in the sun and to cool down at Hapuna Beach Park to cap off your experience. It is rated as one of the best white sandy beaches in the USA!. The “Puna Taste & Travel Tour”
Start the exotic journey to Waipio Valley to take in the views of one of the most photographed spots on the Island. Beautiful black sand beach and lush tropical valley. A great place for horseback or ATV riding. Back on the road along the gorgeous Hamakua Coast to Hilo town, our "old Hawaii", with stops at tropical waterfalls. We now get a chance to taste local fruits and produce at Hilo's Farmers Market and have lunch at a local favorite restaurant, Cafe Pesto! Great local cuisine with fresh fish, salads, and then some. For desert, lets head over to the Big Island Candies Factory for savory chocolate treats and icecream. Then we head down to Ahalanui “Hot Pond”, to take a soothing dip and snorkel in this naturaly heated( sometimes up to 95 degrees) pool from the lava underneath. Not to mention, terrific ocean views. We then travel to Kalapana to witness the lava flow that covered this village area not too long ago, and take a short hike over the lava field to Kaimu Black Sand Beach. Yes, it’s actually black. From here we can view what happens when hot lava flows into the ocean(when actively flowing), huge steam clouds rise into the sky! The "Big Island Exploration Tour"
Take a drive through Historic Kailua Kona with many local shops and restaurants right next to the blue Pacific Ocean. Head over to Greenwell Coffee Farm to sample some 100% Kona Coffee, not to mention chocolate covered coffee beans. This farm is also surrounded by avocado, apple banana, citrus, and tangerine trees. Continue the drive to the Punaluu Bakery and then to the Punaluu Black Sand Beach, sometimes with sunbathing green sea turtles. Cruise on over to the Volcano National Park, home of the most active volcano in the world. The tour goes on now passing through Hilo Town to an easy hike through a tropical rainforest with beautiful waterfalls, exotic flowers, bamboo jungle, all leading up to Akaka Falls! 400+ feet drop waterfall. Drive back through Waimea, our Hawaiian Cowboy Country town with cattle, horses, sheep, and goats feeding on the green pastures. This town has areas with beautiful mountain, and ocean views...temperature usually drops 7-20 degrees being over 2,500 feet in elevation; Rated as one of the top ten places to live in the USA...you decide.
